Bob's consulting skills benefit from real work experiences representing the discipline and structure of large public and private companies with revenues from $200 million to over $1 billion; and the flexibility and pragmatism necessary for small companies and start-ups. Bob lead the mergers and acquisitions programs at several large companies. In his role of CFO at Primus Telecommunications http://primus.ca/he lead the accretive acquisition of 12 companies in under three years. In total Bob has managed the sale and acquisition process of 20 businesses with a total value of over $100 million. In all of these transactions Bob managed the process from initiating contact with the potential buyer or seller through term sheets, to due diligence and finally through to definitive agreements.
Bob also managed the financing process for numerous categories of financing. He has raised over $200 Million throughout his career. Capital raises include: venture and private equity capital, senior and mezzanine debt, lines of credit and various asset backed loans including capital and operating leases.
Bob started his career in public accounting with Touche Ross (now http://deloiite.ca). He provided a broad range of services in addition to traditional audit and accounting. These included system implementations, complex tax planning, restructuring support and process improvements. He also completed the In Depth tax course.
Bob consistently advanced throughout his career ultimately to the role of Chief Financial Officer. In times of growth, Bob supporting the business he worked for through debt financing to support the growth, ensuring systems and processes were up to speed; and sales and marketing strategies were optimal and performing as planned. In times of economic uncertainty and decline, Bob led productivity and performance improvement initiatives that achieved millions in savings and enabled businesses to survive during the downturn and thrive as demand improved. He has extensive experience buying and selling all sizes and types of businesses. Transactions values ranging from $2 million in enterprise value and up to $50 million. Most of the sales transactions involved privately-owned businesses where flexible win-win terms and conditions were achieved. Bob's ability to listen and understand the needs of business owners allowed all parties to work through challenges and issues and complete the transaction.
